In-N-Out Burger says goodbye to customers in Oakland
OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — In-N-Out Burger is closing its doors in Oakland after 16 years of operation. The popular fast food chain announced that the location on Hegenberger Road will permanently shut down on Friday.
The decision to close the Oakland restaurant was not made lightly, according to In-N-Out Burger’s Vice President of Operations Denny Warnick. “It is always a difficult decision to close a restaurant, and this was not an exception,” Warnick said in a statement.
The closure comes as a disappointment to many loyal customers who frequented the Hegenberger location for their favorite burgers and fries. “I’m really going to miss this place. It was my go-to spot for a quick and delicious meal,” one customer told ABC7 News.
In-N-Out Burger did not provide a specific reason for the closure, but some speculate that the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic may have played a role.
The company assured that employees at the Oakland location will be offered positions at other nearby stores. In-N-Out Burger remains committed to serving its customers in the Bay Area and beyond.
Despite the closure, fans of the beloved burger chain can still visit one of the many other locations in California and beyond to satisfy their cravings for animal-style burgers and hand-cut fries.
